lindseyflesher Hi, I’m looking for a LV crossbody in great condition. I know the pockets won’t hold up over time. Did you put fabric inside the pockets to make them useable? Just wondering why they are fabric and gray instead of looking peeled? Thank you

bimarc @lindseyflesher Hi,thanks for checking my store. If you’re familiar with vintage LV purses almost 90% have issues with the pockets. The top layer becomes soft,sticky and has a black moldy looking thing that makes both sides stuck making the pockets unusable. Acetone is used to get rid of the stickiness. As a result the cloth becomes dark in color but no longer sticky. I tried to clean this pocket way to much that i end up messing it up.

bimarc @lindseyflesher I didn’t alter anything inside this purse,i just cleaned it. Its the original pocket that ripped after me too much rubbing/cleaning that i hand stitched after . I used this bag in this condition w/o any issues so far.

lindseyflesher @bimarc ok, yes ma’am I’m familiar with the stickiness the pockets get. Thank you for explaining further. My last LV had sticky pockets as well. Since you deal with these vintage purses regularly do you think this purse is in good condition. The photos look good but in your opinion what are your thoughts? Thank you 😊

bimarc @lindseyflesher as far as the Vachetta and the canvas is concerned this bag will still last very long. Maybe even longer than the new purse that LV makes now. They only have the normal signs of aging on the Vachetta like patina and superficial scratches. But the pocket may not hold for another decade.

bimarc The new purses/bags LV makes now has poor quality. The material used on vintage LVs are a lot better. I read from one LV group chat that her 2yr purse hardwares are already tarnished and chipped

bimarc @lindseyflesher if you’re looking for an excellent condition sling bag then I would suggest you check other stores as the pocket of this one is not in good condition anymore. Just expect to pay more though for a better rank item.

bimarc @godsangel1006 those are the kind of date code that will say its “invalid” when you check on those LV product code authentication but it doesn’t mean that they’re not authentic. I’m 101% sure it is authentic and it’s supported by the authentication of Legitgrails. Thanks for asking!
