Lotus Flower Drawstring Jewelry Pouch - Vintage

Made of multi-color satin brocade with a primarily red background, this little pouch is covered with Chinese images, including: a boat with boatmen on a lake, birds swimming and in flight, jasmine and other flowers, and buildings with xieshan roof style. Knotted red drawstring is used to tie it closed. Lined in red satin with gold-colored silk stitching, along with the padded main compartment, it has eight, two-inch deep little pouches that can be either inside the pouch (i.e., for traveling to a special occasion,) or outside the pouch (resting on your dresser top,) depending on which way you use it. Either way, it resembles a lotus flower, which has eight petals and is a symbol of purity, strength, resilience, and rebirth. This pouch is at least 20-30 years old and it's in mint condition. Opened, it measures 8.5" across. Closed and tied, it measures almost 4" across. No pulls, tears, or stains. Smoke-free home.
