This is a small lot of three vintage wooden textile repair tools used for mending socks and stockings, a charming nod to early 20th-century domestic arts. These smooth, hand-held forms were used to stretch and stabilize fabric while darning holes. One of the tools is clearly marked “FOOT FORM PAT. NOV. 19.07,” indicating it was manufactured shortly after 1907, likely in the 1910s–1930s.
Lot Includes:
• 1 Foot Form Co. darning egg (stamped patent date 1907) – approx. 6.5” long
• 1 turned wooden mushroom darner – approx. 4.5”
• 1 plain egg-shaped darner with slender handle – approx. 7”
Condition:
All three show signs of light vintage wear, smooth patina, and minor scuffing consistent with age and use. No cracks or splits. Functional and decorative.
