sweethandmeups @anastasiabori83 Hi! I’m not certain what’s in the polyester, but know whatever is inside is tightly covered by the material. Obviously something like weights shouldn’t be stored there, but they solidly stored clothing. The base especially feels sturdy.

sweethandmeups I just sold a set and when packaging it, gave it a second look. There is no budging when putting pressure on the base. The shelves themselves appear to be sturdy cardboard, wrapped in polyester. They are not as sturdy as the base, yet solid. Ikea did a good job of considering what these would be used for and engineered accordingly.
