@aliza1022 with 19” inches the US size is likely 38 R since the chest is 38” around! Loro Piano often comes smaller than actual size. But it is truly beautiful and rare like a piece of art!

@aliza1022 oh I realize! I know Loro Piana very well. I had a job previously making more money than I do now, I own a few cashmere pieces from them that I’ve mostly picked up at their outlet stores in New York and SoCal.
I don’t actually need a coat that often. The original sticker price on that is two full months of my salary. It’s appropriately priced imo, I’m just sorely underpaid, but what’s new!? 😅

@grimlockjones it’s more like a piece of art and you are the only one knows what you are wearing and it’s so beautifully cut but way too small. You can get same quality and about 40-50% off by buying Agnona— the fabric probably the same mill and mark up lots less! But that’s truly one of the best I have seen!

@modafor1 Yeah, I’m not keenly aware of exactly how much markup is in a garment like that. I love the Loro Piana aesthetic generally. I’ve got a couple things from BC too, but LP is very quiet in a way I appreciate. As far as I can tell, they mill all their own fabric, etc., and their workers are not 11 year old Bangladeshi girls chained at the ankle to a sewing machine.

@grimlockjones I’m not familiar with BC but it is certainly surprising how many companies using slave labor— even in America everything made in prisons at. $0.14 to $$1.14 is a slave labor by definition….but Agnona is a family owned company and I find that they are as good or better than LP and they don’t advertise …but it’s all relative as I can afford either one !

@modafor1 I will definitely look into Agnona… I’ve never heard of them before. BC - Brunello Cucinelli. Yeah the advertising, etc. definitely raises the profile and cost of the product. As well Loro Piana was purchased by LVMH, so being part of a publicly traded company puts pressure on cost/pricing
