rjdarlene Thx for the quick response. Here is my best explanation. Patent leather is very very very shinny. Almost looks like there is a coat of plastic over the leather. Shinny croc is leather that has a shine in bedded in the croc pattern. One is not any better than the other. It's just a style difference .I believe all high quality major bag manufacturers make both styles. I prefer the shinny croc.
