This vintage oversize London Fog coat is warm and comfortable.
If you're looking for the tan Dishevelled Detective Colombo Overcoat Look, then this is the vintage London Fog overcoat for you.
I left the London Fog All Weather Overcoat in its original dishevelled, rumpled Detective Colombo style appearance. I even left the ballpoints streaks. It's clean, I didn't leave any dirt or food stains. You'll have to supply those yourself to get more of the authentic Detective Colombo look.
There're no tears or rips. There's a back pleat to allow greater ease in movements.
Approximately: 42" Long
All buttons are present. Lining does not zip out.
The coat is made from Garbardine. A classic London Fog trench coat such as this one is made from gabardine, a cotton twill so densely woven it's waterproof.
This coat isn't a Cortefiel as the one worn by Detective Colombo but a London Fog, the company who made the style first: Established 1923.
The coat worn by Peter Falk as Detective Columbo was made by Cortefiel, a Spanish department store founded in 1945.
Columbo's rumpled beige raincoat is one of his most recognizable trademarks, along with his cigar and relentless, unorthodox investigative style.
Indeed, the slept-in garment look clearly represented his essence and curiosity. Colombo's iconic and disheveled coat actually belonged to the actor, himself who played Colombo, Peter Falk, and was made by Cortefiel. Therefore, you aren't going to find one exactly like it.
