Linwood Mine Calcite with Marcasite.
No more Calcite pieces are coming out of this mine which is one of the largest underground limestone mines in the United States.
From Linwood Mining Company in Buffalo, Iowa, Scott County. For quite a while the Mining Company has not allowed employees to remove Calcite pieces from the mine. You can only get pieces from the second market or if you are lucky enough to purchase a piece from a former employee. I live about 5 minutes from this beautiful mine located along the Mississippi River.
Very sparkly, measure approximately 2 inches.
From my no pet, non-smoking home.

@tmodiddy I can’t remember the name. It looked like yellow inclusions in selenite…very thin slabs. Leigh bought a piece. Then you showed mica. Then all your purple pieces including that gorgeous amytrine, (which I’m saving for!)
