Light Blue Hand Knitted Baby Sweater with Animal Buttons

A sweet baby blue sweater. Hand knitted and believed to be from the 1970s. It has been worn but is in very good condition. The entire sweater is knitted in a stockinette stitch with open work about every 6 or 7 rows. Ribbing at the bottom and on the bottom of the sleeves, with smaller ribbing along the neck and front edges. I think this pattern would work for a boy or a girl. The front wraps, right side under the left and the left side buttons at the bottom ribbing on the right. There are small animal buttons (bears??) at both sides of the bottom, but only one set actually buttons. Wish I knew more about knitting, but this appears to be very well made. I do not know what type of yarn was used, but this was handwashed by me and turned out very well. Lying flat, with left side buttoned, measurements are: Chest area, underarms, about 10 1/2" Bottom edge, about 9 1/4" Back neckline to bottom, about 9"
