hoarderhaven @lukas_barbies I’m sorry I don’t know, I was going to say Lucite if you’re talking about the middle part, I could ask a couple people and get back to you, no promises, and again I’m sorry I am not as knowledgeable as I would like to be about jewelry like my mom was, Thanks so much for your interest

lukas_barbies @hoarderhaven it may be ivory. I’m pretty sure Les Bernard made jewelry made of elephant ivory before the ban.

lukas_barbies @hoarderhaven I have a necklace that’s Les Bernard and it’s ivory. It’s very pretty. A lot of people don’t know les Bernard sold ivory pieces they usually think it’s some kind of plastic.

hoarderhaven I better find out for sure but I’m not sure how to do that other than ask a couple people online that are knowledgeable, I live in a pretty small town but I’ll have to try to find somewhere to take them, thank you so much for telling me and I think you might be right

hoarderhaven @lukas_barbies I really appreciate u telling me, I started to research it, but I’m wondering when he stop using ivory? Worthpoint says its rare to find his ivory pieces, that they were only sold at high end department stores. I thought this was from the 60s/50s But some of his stuff is from the 80s that says things like “thermoplastic” etc. I can’t even find them, I hope they haven’t been stolen by our resident maintenance lady kleptomaniac thief, she’s taken a ton of stuff

lukas_barbies @hoarderhaven I learned it from a jewelry video I watched recently on you tube. Les Bernard had some advertisements in vogue magazine that had pictures of his ivory pieces. I think 70s-80s.

hoarderhaven @lukas_barbies I’m so grateful to your knowledge and reaching out to me, thank you for sharing that, and best of all I have found them! I have no clue what they’re worth but I saw some of his ivory earrings on worthpoint. If they are ivory they are very rare

hoarderhaven @lukas_barbies I finally took these into an appraiser. He said they were not ivory and didn’t see the striations like you and I do so I hope he is correct.
