Is the material shiny or matte?

Can you please let me know the condition of the faux leather, especially at the seams? Asking because I've had 2 pairs of these where the faux leather peeled away from the backing. CM said they had quality issues with the manufacturer and don't carry these anymore because of it. TIA!
