true VINTAGE Lavender iridescent sequin maxi skirt sz 4 6 Sm 💜. I barely managed to snap and hook this on this manikin and she is a size 4 to 6. Waist is 27" hips more free w slight stretch @ 34" 42"length with single side slit on left being S respectable and appropriate 18 inch up from bottom. This is a vintage item so please go by measurements not label 6. Vintage items fit small @ waist. In PERFECT condition as I was never small enough to even wear it once. I Purchased it at Bloomingdales

colbyjane91 Do you think the slit could be made higher by a seamstress? Unsure because of beadwork, and sewing is certainly not my specialty! Lol

iflip4fashion @colbyjane91 without a doubt yes. As you can see it’s not mermaid or bodycon style at the hip or leg. I can photo it on my white sz8-10 mannequin for you if it helps. And the beads are no problem for elongating the seam. Just having the material to seam (which you will) without a pulled open slit (unless your looking for that “super sexy reveal” style anyhow.

iflip4fashion @colbyjane91 I have had more than 6-8 out of a dozen dresses I bought over the years altered & are “completely covered” with not just sequins, but variations of BEADING even. Back when we would cruise for formal dinners, I went all out! Never a problem. But definitely only a professional or seamstress should do! Hope that helps. (not selling any of those as very sentimental & hoping my daughter will appreciate them one day when she’s much older)

Because I don’t want the style to be like real shiny and like “in your face” loud lol, I want something more like what you have listed or matte sequins. Free People sold one a year or two ago and I’m so mad at myself for not getting it! I could almost turn one of my old prom or homecoming dresses into one but then again it would be too loud for the look I’m wanting. You’ve been so kind and helpful!

colbyjane91 I’m worried this is going to be too small though... 😭😢😩 I use those mannequins as well bc I own a store and they’re tiny! So if it doesn’t want to fit on her... dang that’s small lol I’m a 26-28 waist but have a big booty so 37-38 at hips. I usually love high waisted stuff bc I like to do the curvy look but I’m just afraid this is a few inches right under what I’d need. What do you think?

iflip4fashion @colbyjane91 I think you might be ok.... but can’t say for sure until I get the measurements for you and see how it fits on the larger mannequin. There is hope because your waist is super tiny & years back, pants & skirts sat at the waist NOT the hip, so hips are much wider than waist than compared to current sizing. I’ll have your info you need 4 U 2morrow to say for sure 🤞🏼

I’m a sucker for all that eighties and early 90’s heavily sequined/beaded silk dresses and suit jackets. Ya know what I’m talking about?! There are some kimono styles too but they’re harder to find. Some go for up to $2,000 on Etsy!!! Laurence Kazar I think is one brand name of it?

iflip4fashion @colbyjane91 N.P. I hear ya. I have a small closet w/ just Sequin Beaded Embroidered Embellished Formal & Semi Formal wear. Few fit, but I 🖤 to collect anyhow. Many vintage, some not. But always that vintage flair. Wish I was in my 20’s-40’s during the Art Deco era. OMG even the non-lookers could drop jaws with what they wore! We share that “old soul” so to speak.

OMG I found some rhinestone fringe trimming on Etsy and am about to put it on the back of vintage jean jacket and down the arms... it’s gonna be so dope. I’ll show you once I get it done! I’d also like do the same concept down some high waist jeans and cut offs.

I 🖤 the fact that Art Deco style furniture has made a comeback! Wanted to do my daughters room in all the mirrored and white leather furniture, but she opted for teal & b&w contemporary.
