Late 1800's JTC Malmaison Germany Luncheon or Dinner Plate With Poppies.
Beautiful antique luncheon/dinner plate with orange colored poppies, green leaves, and gold trim. This is in very good condition with some minor scratches on the white part of plate. No chips. The paint is still bold and the gold trim looks great. On the bottom of the plate the makers mark/crest had JTC and below that it says Malmaison Germany.
Porzellanfabrik Jaeger, Thomas & Company (JTC) was founded in 1872 as a small decoration company but due to its success the produced a large variety of tableware, coffee and tea sets, and giftware. The makers mark on this plate was used from 1872 to 1898. After changes in partnership, in 1898 the company changed the markers mark from JTC to J&C through 1923.
Approx. 9 1/2” diameter, 6” base diameter.
