Large Steiff Zebra Vintage German Mohair Stuffed Toy

This beautiful Steiff zebra was made between 1956-62. He no longer has any of his Steiff IDs, but you will find him on page 323 in Guenther Pfeiffer's Steiff Sortiment book. He has glass eyes and the bottom of his feet are felt. His mohair coat is a little discolored from time, but is clean with vibrant air brushed stripes. He has minimal thinning along his seams but does have some spots of loss (moth damage?) on his right side. His mane has been matted down and possibly cut or worn down. As you can see, he lost a chunk of his rump and his tail, likely to a vicious lion, but it has been nicely repaired. He is the largest of the 4 sizes made and measures about 11" to the top of his ears, and about 12" long. K545 All of our Steiff animals are offensive odor-free and come from a smoke-free home.
