This coiled pencil reed bowl slash basket hails from the 1970s, and makes a great centerpiece bowl with fruit or herbs or decorative twig orbs or a shallow pot with succulents. It can also be hung on a wall, using the raised base as the "hanger." The possibilities are endless. Italian designer Gabriella Crespi (1922-1917) was known for her coiled pencil reed table bases and sculptural elements, among other iconic pieces. That style was part of the same movement of airy, organic, jungle look that has come back so strongly today, and has influences in beach and tropical environs.
