La Bolivianita (or Ametrine) Earrings & Pendant in Italian 18K Yellow Gold Set. Precious stone: Ametrine or Bolivianita. Ametrine, also known as trystine or by its trade name as bolivianite, is a naturally occurring variety of quartz. It is a mixture of amethyst and citrine with zones of purple and yellow or orange. This beautiful synthesis of two gemstones is incredibly rare. So rare, that ametrine can only be found in the Anahi mine in southeastern Bolivia. Legend has it that a Spanish conquistador discovered the mine’s location in the 1600s and introduced the gem to Europeans when he presented several specimens to his queen. The mine had been given to him as a dowry when he married a native princess named Anahi. We are happy to say we have access to this rare beauty and have brought it to you for a rare price. New without tags! Total Weight: 4.2 gr (earrings: 2.4 gr; pendant: 1.8 gr)

discretemath @monicafar It's ametrine. Ametrine, also known as trystine or by its trade name as bolivianite, is a naturally occurring variety of quartz. It is a mixture of amethyst and citrine with zones of purple and yellow or orange. The name Bolivianite comes from the fact that just about all Ametrine mined today is unearthed in Bolivia.

monicafar @discretemath Yes. I can see that, thank you. There are little white accessory stones- are those diamonds or CZs? Topaz?

discretemath @monicafar I don't know what those white accessory stones are. I shall contact the manufacturer to find out about those stones. The stones are very small.
