LOVELY LATE 1920s' GOLD SHEER FABRIC WIDE BRIM HAT + DETAILED EDGING ON BRIM

This is such a beautiful hat from the late 1920s'. The hat is made of gold sheer fabric bands topstitched together. The crown is lined on the inside with matching color silk (?). There is a black velour band around the crown, which ends in a bow at the back. The edges of the wide brim are made of an intricately "knitted" straw band. The straw is very delicate due to the hat's age. There is a yellow fabric flower bouquet and green stems adorning one side To help keep the hat in place, there is an elastic band attached to the inside, attached by the original owner. This band is knotted at one point, probably to adjust it to a smaller head size. This band can be replaced, however we left it in original condition. In the 1920s, wide-brimmed hats gained immense popularity as a fashionable accessory for women. Hats were seen as a symbol of the decade's embrace of a new, more independent female identity. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
