In response to 911, Marc Jacobs and Julie Verhoeven collaborated with Louis Vuitton to make the limited edition Conte de Fees ("fairy tale") line of bags in Spring/Summer of 2002. This messenger style bag was among the more rare of this already-limited line. This appliqué landscape mixes all Louis Vuitton canvases, vernis, damier, epi leather and snake skin.

The snake skin is from a water snake, the Karung and Ayer, coming from Indonesia, species that are not protected by the Washington convention. These exceptionally beautiful leathers, keep all their nobility thanks to a specific tanning process. Due to the authenticity of those skins, you may find that the scales will naturally not lie completely flat. Definitely a favorite collector's item.
