shannonhm If I’m a featured closet should I share back the items from the people who shared my items? That sounds confusing but does it make sense? Is that just the purpose of the game everyone gets a chance to be shared and you don’t need to share back.

jenn3981 @shannonhm personal preference. If you have the time, you can share, but, it is not required. We are very relaxed on The RUNWAY! If you only have time to share your own closet, you should do that rather than share back. From what I understand, sharing your own items is more important than sharing others.

bargaintwins @jenn3981 @shannonhm This post is a great idea! As far as sharing, I like to random share. Some days I will use a filter and pick a color or “just in” or price range etc. On other days I will just scroll through & choose. When you are featured, it is good etiquette to share the PFFs you are featured with. Shares for the hostess are appreciated, but optional. It is your special day, so there is no need to return shares to those who share your closet. Have fun, everyone! 💋

jenn3981 #1 tip - if you’re time is limited - share your own closet first before (or in place of) sharing The RUNWAY or another group. Use the bulk share feature. Sort by likes, oldest listing or highest price. Takes a very short time. I try to do this 1-2 times per day.

marveylust When listing it is easy to show size with a common coin! With jewelry especially a string of beads can appear to be any size and a penny in the photo gives perfect scale to the buyer. Measuring is best but if that’s a chore at least put a coin next to your small items🎉

jenn3981 @shannonhm Hi Shannon. Usually Poshmark gives a little notice in the banner of the notifications. Typically I see it a couple hours before. Otherwise, if you’re on Poshmark when it’s happening and you click a listing the banner at the top will say “Get this item for $4.99 shipping for 1 hour.” Great question!

I LOVE to window shop, so as I am doing that, of course love the items I want that are my size etc....(for later purchase ) but Items I fine that are unique, I love ..I share. Also if someone purchases from me, I go in and share some of their items if they have them as a Thank You of sorts. I love sharing....

shannonhm closet clear out. Do you list the item at discount and not lower the shipping and PM will discount it automatically for the buyer? If the buyer doesn’t purchase the item and say I l lowered the shipping that PM will pick up for closet clear out does that mean I am now on the hook for that lowered shipping price correct? Does that make sense?

I wonder if someone signs up as a guest and does not enter a user name if posh just generates a mix of letters? As far as the algorithm it used to be listing, sharing, commenting, a purchase here and there, sharing other poshers, etc. That being said, with the new beta LIVE feature, many of us have seen a decrease in sales even though we are doing all the things. I’m hoping others will weigh in here, too! This is just a side hustle for me. I do work FT.

I’m in a few share groups and while I recognize most of the names that share regularly in my share groups, I have a hard time determining if the rest of the shares in my news feed are coming from share groups or just random Poshers visiting my closet. TBH I am not able to share back everyone that shares me. especially if you are on limited time, which most of us are, the most important thing to do is share your own items and list new items (or relist an item after 61 days). I think it is easy to get caught up in sharing other closets 1st especially in share groups but you have to keep focused on your closet. I bulk share my closet during the day as well. I don't think it matters who shares your closet. Sharing is 1 area Posh remains consistent on to do!

k_wix I see that most of you are in the Runway game(?). I don’t really understand the games. But, I do have some ideas on getting the attention of new followers. If I have an item, especially my higher priced ones I do a search for the same item in the ‘Shop’ option and like the Poshers who like the similar items. I usually share my item first so it appears as the first item in my closet. It’s fun to see who responds and I’ve made sales in the process. Thanks for your runway idea💕

It depends on if it’s the 1st item or one further in depending on my time. For those Poshers that share 20 of my items in a row, I will usually only share 3 or 4 of theirs.

jenn3981 @wmjohnston70 Hi and welcome! We all were new at one time. The RUNWAY is made up of super sweet Poshers that will typically help when they can. Make sure you always share your closet first. That’s more important than sharing other people’s items. I like to use the Bulk Share feature. It goes much quicker.

jenn3981 @martimarscloset sorry I didn’t see the question! 1. In the app go to the top right and click the 2 crossed wrenches 2. Under Bulk Listing Actions click “Share to Followers” 3. Top right click the hourglass - select “Available” 4. Click top “Select All” That’s it! Depending on how many listings you have it could take a bit of time. I try to do it several times a day. I know that when the show is in progress you can tag another Posher by dropping their closet name in the comments section of the item during the auction. Prior to the show starting you can share the show like any listing. There is an arrow at the bottom of the show's cover slide.

shannonhm What do you consider a fair offer? I typically start at 10% and then maybe come down to 15-20. Do you offer a lot of 50% off? Also when I post items I usually check posh for similar sold items and what others are pricing and sometimes what pricing on other selling sites (can’t use names-posh rejected my original comment). I think that’s reasonable. How do you price?

jenn3981 @shannonhm so I have found that I price my items about 30% higher than I would like to get. When people like the item I send the offer for 30% off and then the 5.95 shipping. As far as people sending offers - if it is a high-end item I won’t accept lowball - for other items if they have been sitting awhile I’ll probably accept!

I sold a beautiful new skirt with tag and still gift boxed, all photos showed the skirt was perfect. the buyer obviously as per the comparative photos tried on and ripped zipper. I had to fight to get my money on the damaged item. If this is the new norm every unscrupulous person will get to keep items and we are screwed. Not right. Thanks for letting me vent lol... Varvara

I haven’t run into this yet but I understand if there is an issue with 1 item in a bundle then the buyer has to return the entire bundle. I guess if you can give a partial refund and have them return that 1 item and keep the rest of the bundle then I could see where that might be useful. I’m not sure if it’s possible to do that with partial refund or not.

jenn3981 @arielandaurora @cinderella927 Yes! I was on a live show last now run by PM_editor (Poshmark) and they said that is a great benefit of the partial refund. You give it for 1 item of the bundle and that is all the buyer has to return. That being said l, I don’t sell a lot of bundles!

Would make much more sense if a buyer could just return one item from a bundle and get a refund for that item, so partial refund of the bundle amount. I agree that if that was not Posh’s intention, they are just opening up a can of worms that I’m not interested in.

jenn3981 Thoughts on LIVE shows? I’ve watched a lot and done a fair amount. Definitely brings traffic to my closet. Helpful to me to watch the LIVE shows where the successful sellers give tips and have a Q&A. My issue right now is time! I know I need to be consistent but there’s a lot going on right now (not to mention my FT job!

jenn3981 @varvara6 especially when you are short on time. Sharing your own items will give you potential sales. And I feel like Posh is moving towards the LIVE sales. Even if you do silent shows - one of the big live sellers says he never shares his or others items. Also - he mostly quick lists what he will sell in the live show and doesn’t rely on people randomly purchasing from his closet.

shannonhm @jenn3981 closet clear out: do I have to make the item CCO to trigger the system to send it to likers? How comes sometimes the messages are sent and other times they are not? What determines cco Item and Poshmark paying the shipping? I have reduced by 10% but it doesn’t always trigger

jenn3981 @shannonhm so there’s a 6 hour window - from the time you lower the price. The lowered price must be 10% less than the item’s historical lowered price. You don’t send any offers. If the person buys within the 6 hour time they will get reduced shipping (paid by posh). Like 1 if your items and reduce the price. You will then see the notification that the buyer gets.

I would try the free trial beta if they are still offering for free as it has helped me quite a bit. Once the trial ended I have been doing weekly and my sales have not been better! You select how much to spend I usually do $8-$10. Works if you have alot of name branda.

shannonhm @varvara6 good morning. I’m so sorry for your loss sending you lots of hugs. did the beta and had a lot of traffic & shares during those 2 weeks.Sold 3-4 things and a big ticket item $300. I continued on $10 week for 3 weeks. slower now and sold one thing which wasn’t from a promoted closet offer. Good luck! It’s definitely worth 2 free weeks!. It’s hard to say if the metrics they share are really true or just made to look like it’s worth it.

cinderella927 @jenn3981 @shannonhm Just watched a few resellers I follow talk about the slow sales resellers are experiencing right now. One reselling co. just laid off 1,000 employees! Anyhow their advice was to keep doing what you normally do, list share etc. Run deep sales on your winter items to make closet look fresh for spring. Just don't get discouraged or panic!

Maybe there are too many live shows right now on top of slow traffic? I did have 2 sellers pick an item from my closet for the live parties and disaster! LOL One host called another sell dumb and get out!

jenn3981 @cinderella927 there’s a lot of drama in the live shows. But I do agree. I’ve cut back - although the live shows bring lots of traffic it is a lot of work! I’m loving the authentic luxury bag shows. There’s one closet that the owner is super knowledgeable (he’s an authenticator) and I’ve learned a lot!

jenn3981 @shannonhm hey Shannon. I’ve never had that happen, however, I think that’s a post office issue. Buyer should open a case and I would guess that you’ll get paid and the buyer will be refunded their money by Poshmark. @cinderella927 and @bargaintwins may know more.

bargaintwins @shannonhm Hi, Shannon! @jenn3981 is correct. This happened to me as a buyer. The box was received ( obviously ripped open ) and the purse was gone. There was a sticker on it that said “received damaged at P.O.” I opened a case & sent photos & seller & I both got our back

amusinggrace @jenn3981 actually when I put my closet on vacation mode for a couple of days I usually have one sale on the 3rd day I’m open Again and I usually end up with 3 sales in a week and then “chirp” again. I dont know how it will be since the sale of Posh happened I guess I’ll find out soon. I always thought it was some weird algorithm thing but it used to happen every time. I dont know 🤷🏽‍♀️

fashionwithmary @jenn3981 Ok, question! How do you know what the lowest historical price on any item is? I haven’t found a way to keep track of this, so it’s a guessing game as to what price I have to offer. I lower the price, check to see if it’s active, change the price again to lower… rinse and repeat. I often have to do this 4 or 5 times before I find the price that reflects 10% lower than my lowest historical price. Is there a better way to do this?

fashionwithmary I’m trying a new thing this week. I am listing a item I want to feature over & over again in a short period of time. I hit edit & move the pictures around then post & then do it over and over again, so it’s showing a different pic of the same item each time I’m listing. I do this for 20 times in a row at peak times of the day. 10 AM, 1, 5 & 8. (these are the times that posh has the posh parties because there’s a lot of activity on the app during those times.) Is anyone else trying something new?

I was hop that Posh might function as a dual selling platform for both non live show sellers and lives. I think that may be wishful thinking, though. Do you feel like it’s worth the effort?
