LADIES VTG. BUCHERER CASE/HAMILTIN 17 JEWEL WATCH WITH 30 DIAMONDS

Lovely vintage ladies Bucherer/Hamilton hand-wind watch in 18K white gold case with 10K rolled gold plate rope band (it is silver in color). 16 full cut diamonds surround the dial & 2 full cut diamonds in the bezel in the middle of each lug. In additon, there are 12 single cut diamonds in the lugs that are .0025 carat each. Total 30 diamonds for a total weight of approximately 1/2 carat. It has a safety chain with a safety latch that automatically engages upon closure of the main latch. This safety latch is purposely a bit difficult to open. It has a Bucherer face and dial (the face says 'Bucherer, 21 jewels, Swiss made'). It was my mother's & I believe it was purchased in the 1950's. At some point (I believe in the 1980's) the original Bucherer movement of this watch was replaced with a Hamilton #612 17-jewel movement. A reputable jeweler told me the same Swiss movement company made both the original Bucherer & the original Hamilton movements. This explained to the jeweler why this Bucherer watch had the Hamilton movements. The back of the case is marked '21254...11'. The diameter is approx. 5/8". Overall length is about 6 1/2" with the band. When the case was cleaned & polished in 2013, it ran well. It has not been worn since but continues to keep good time. There is some very minor rust on one winding wheel & the inside of the back case. The crystal is not perfect but usable and does not impair function
