The book starts with copy work of simple three letter words (consonant-vowel-consonant). It then proceeds to having the child write their own phonetic simple words based on pictures. Next, the child is copying sentences to learn proper sentence structure, spelling, and punctuation. This leads to the child being able to write dictated sentences led by the parent or teacher. The child finishes the book being able to write their own sentences which will prepare them for the next primary grades to come.
