No rips, markings, etc. This is based on a “heroic true story of a stray pup who goes to war”. “While the men think Stubby is just there to lift their spirits, he ends up saving them time and time again, eventually being promoted to the rank of sergeant!” There are even real pictures of Stubby at the end! There is also a sneak peak of the author, Laurie Calkhoven, other book about a war dog named Judy. This book appeals to 3rd-6th graders and the reading level is Grade 4. It has nice bigger print, small chapters and an easy read . There are approx. 90 pages of reading material for the actual chapters, not including the extra things. I included 9 pics to look at.
