Kaye of Hollywood Girl with basket and applied flowers

One of the most striking features of this Kaye of Hollywood ceramic lady planter is the applied porcelain flowers. The green and mauve dots represent a flower pattern on the bonnet, characteristic of Kaye of Hollywood's California Pottery designs. Hand signed "3021 Kaye", this piece was made by Katherine Schuefftan, known as Kay McHugh, who marketed under "Kaye Figurines" and "Kaye of Hollywood," during the early 1940s.
