K2 Azurite Granite Tumble with Blue Azurite Splatter AKA Raindrop Azurite

This is a Granite stone with lovely splotch of royal blue Azurite. It is highly unusual to find a copper mineral (Azurite) in a granite rock. It is believed the granite formed first and then the Azurite crystallized within the granite grains. This results in a speckled effect on some specimens. This tumble has one large blue dot of blue Azurite. K2 Granite," also known as "K2 Jasper" and "raindrop azurite," is an extremely interesting rock and lapidary material from the Skardu area of northern Pakistan.
