K. Lee Manuel hand painted purse of leather and metallic paint vintage 1980’s

This lovely and rare bag of metallic and jewel tone colour. 7.5” by 5.5” by 1”. Strap drop measures 24” in length. Signed and kept in perfect condition. Thank you for your consideration. K. Lee Manuel (1936-2003) was a fiber artist who is most well known for her leather work, suede garments, and painted feather collars. She was a California native, who made Santa Cruz her home and studio. She studied at the University of California, Los Angeles and received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. She has been included in numerous shows in the United States and abroad. Her work can be found in the collections of the Museum of Arts and Design and at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
