Here is a very beautiful piece on a theme dear to the great jeweler Jules Perrier. Although his creations are most often non-figurative, we regularly find maple leaves with their fall colors in Perrier's production of enamels on copper, here on an 5-inch diameter plate with a rich golden background.
Self-taught jeweler, Jules Perrier began his production of enamels on copper in 1955 in his workshop in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, at the back of his first jewelry store. That same year, he participated in the first Salon des métiers d’arts de Montréal and is still present there today. His reputation as a jeweler has gone far beyond the borders of Quebec and is internationally recognized. He and his family now operate four jewelry stores.
We do not know exactly when he focused solely on the manufacture of jewelry, but we no longer seem to find his signature on enamels from the 70s. We believe that this piece dates from the 60s.
It is in a very beautiful vintage condition for a piece of this age.
