Shikishi is made from handmade art paper which is then laminated onto hard board backing. The hard board backing is usually a warm yellowish color with gold speckled hints throughout it. After being laminated to a board, they are sealed or edged using a strip of paper that's usually the color gold. Though a Shikishi is very light, the strip of gold makes it look very premium & high quality. Due to the setup and material selection of the Shikishi, it's 100% opaque meaning the colors will be vivid in any lighting environment & no light reflection or glares.
