joy2poshworld62 @dreamitcreateit I'm divorced 7 yrs ago and moved back to my hometown of Beaufort, sc. Also an 11 yr cancer survivor. No treatments semi- remission. My roommate owns her home and is widowed. I live in her basement. Everything is in her name due to medical situation. We purchased Bertha and split all bills, insurance, maintenance,taxes..in half. Then when we started reno.. all those expenses 1/2.

Usually I book all the accomidations figure out a tentative itenerary map and places.. in advance.. split that with how many go on the trip. we either take turns filling her up or 1 person pays all the gas and we split that up equally. Mostly my roommate and I travel together I'm disabled (58) and she's retired (62).

I live 4 miles from the beach in SC.. So we stay home and enjoy our beach😎

Your roommate sounds like a wonderfully understanding and generous person. I’m sure you pull your weight as well, so it sounds like you each have a good deal! Good for you!! She only gets 8 miles to the gallon..but we get to see so much along the way.

joy2poshworld62 @vintage2classic mostly my roommate and I always travel together. we purchased together and did all the work together. I'm disabled with my cancer and she retired...I do most of the driving. sometimes friends fly out to meet us BC they don't want to travel for more than 5-6 days. We split the gas and campsites. we also do music festivals close by for long weekends. its a great way to travel. we get a rise everywhere we go. 😄

iwannabeakiwi @joyrice1962 I’d love to chat 😁🥰 between appts, headed to the second now. My Drainage tubes are out 🥳. Pulling first one was one the 3 most painful things in my life, runner up even. Today was much more manageable but my nurse was much kinder empathetic. I’ve got a full day but feel free to mssg me anytime, I’ll always mssg back. I may not be be super quick to the draw but I make up for it in words 🤣 I love language, finding verbal accuracy with style… I like words🤓 lol.

_hildyl Have you heard of a place called The Farm, I think it's in Kentucky. You would love it. It was once a large community. People from the west moved to live communally. Its format has of course evolved. Now about 150 people who (I think) are very similar to you. They chose to live in their unique and loving way, 60's style. They do classes there, and online, and do have guest. It's interesting. I saw a documentary on it. 😉✌

My roommate and I bought her together and we usually travel together along with her sister on short journeys. But I do like the wandering aspect of the journey...going off the path so to speak.
