1985 John Fogerty Album
Centerfield
Centerfield" was released on January 14, 1985.
Fogerty played all the instruments on the album.
The title track was honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010, making Fogerty the only musician to be celebrated at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for a song.
The song "Centerfield" was inspired by center field at Yankee Stadium because when Fogerty was growing up on the West Coast, there was no Major League Baseball team to root for, and the closest thing his area had to a team was the New York Yankees, which had San Francisco native Joe DiMaggio on their team.
It reached #1 on the US album chart in 1985.
"Centerfield" is a favorite among baseball players from little league to the major leagues.
Album cover has some wear. The record is in good condition.
