Joan of Arc Letter Opener Sterling Silver Handle & Abalone Mother of Pearl Blade

Gorgeous, handcrafted letter opener featuring an exquisite figural handle of Joan of Arc (Jeanne d’Arc) in sterling silver with an abalone (mother of pearl) blade. The abalone blade shines beautifully in different colors in the light. Measures 5 inches long (silver handle: 1.5 in, abalone blade: 3.5 in). Handcrafted by a now-retired local small jewelry designer in Brooklyn, NY in the 1990s to early 2000s. The figural handle was cast from an antique French piece, from which a mold was created, and the designer then made a very limited number of this new letter opener design. Handmade in the USA.
