Jim Thompson Thai silk Satchel

Original Jim Thompson Thai silk satchel- purchased at Jim Thompson House in Bangkok but never used! The silk has subtle vertical stripes of navy, cream, black, and metallic silver with black leather handles and a black leather Jim Thompson logo. The bag is large with just one central compartment and a small zippered pocket on the inside. The satchel is approximately 22 inches wide and 14 inches tall. The interior is black with a magnetic closure. The handle is long enough to carry over-the-shoulder. In case you aren't familiar with Jim Thompson and his amazing story, he was an American businessman who helped revitalize the silk industry of Thailand in the 1950s and 1960s and was one of the most famous Americans living in Asia. His business helped thousand of Thailand's poorest people out of poverty by allowing them to weave the silk at home. In 1967, he went for a walk in Malaysia and disappeared - never to be found. His home in Bangkok is a testament to his love for the Thai people and their culture. The satchel comes with the original Jim Thompson dust cover.
