This book has part of the spine missing and 3 of the pages are torn. It is a Vintage childrens book with colorful pictures by Decie Merwin. There are 16 double-sided pages in this book. It was published by Grosset & Dunlap Publishers 1946 in New York. There was a lot of banging going on down in the cellar when I got home that afternoon. My mother said, "You mustn't bother the plumbers; they're mending the hot-water boiler." I said I wouldn't, and opened the cellar door. Halfway down the stairs I stopped.
