Beautiful treasure! This is an authentic, crepe silk Japanese kimono called Kurotomesode. It features a wave and pine pattern on the bottom panels and has 5 family crests on the upper sleeves. I originally purchased it several years ago for prom on Yahoo japan auctions, but haven't worn it since. It does have a couple of spots in the lining that have been patched, but for it's vintage age, the silk and exterior is in excellent condition. For additional pics, feel free to contact me:)

summerliu Hey Sanysa, would you please measure how long the sleeves are? Also do you have the matching shoes?
Jan 19Reply
shanysa
shanysa @summerliu The length of the sleeves is 71 cm, the sleeve to sleeve measurement is 127 cm, and the total length is 148 cm. Because it's vintage it doesn't have matching shoes as such, but I do have a few pairs of zori I'm willing to part with if you would like to see those:)

summerliu It is cute but I sometime confused with what kind is for married and what kind is for unmarried...I kinda know that the shorter sleeves are for married... this will be for unmarried, correct?

shanysa
shanysa This one is actually a formal kimono for married women, but you are correct. I'm not sure why, but the sleeves on this particular kimono are much longer than usual Kurotomesode, which makes it a bit of a curiosity. At one point, it looks like the previous owner had pinned several inches of the sleeves up which would be easy to re-do, but I always liked the longer sleeves and so I've left them out.

summerliu lol. Thanks for explaining but yes I am interested in your kimono, rather than want to know more about kimono....I actually looking for long sleeves black one so that was the reason why I asked the length of the sleeves. Is this your best price? (also please @ me otherwise I am not able to see your reply.)
