The original twisted bracelet!
James Avery, retired
Sterling silver charm bracelet
It’s very similar to the current style that’s in stores but this retired one does not have a tag, instead it’s stamped on the clasp as shown. The metal is a deeper silver color as the new version uses less pure sterling and a mix of other metals making it shinier and a lighter shade of silver. In addition, the design of the links are slightly bigger on this version.
I’ve provided a photo of it in my wrist. My wrist are small and there is a little space remaining so it’s best for a Smaller wrist. Due to the safety chain, it can not be fully opened and measured.
If you’d like the newer current edition, I have that one NWT posted in my closet for $65!

@golfgal23 Hey, I just noticed that you liked my bracelet but posted the same thing in your closet and stole my whole description. I’m sorry but do you mind writing your own description for your bracelet? I work very hard on my listings so that they are original. If you’d like to use it, I only ask that you credit my closet for the information. I would really appreciate it.

Hello, I just read your product description about the difference between the bracelets from the 1990s and today. I have this same bracelet and recently had it serviced at James Avery. They asked me if I wanted the clasp “repaired” and I agreed. However, when I read your description, I can know see that they replaced my clasp with a new one that is a different shade!!!!! I’m so upset and horrified by this. Have you ever heard of this happening to anyone else?

@pf78216 Hi there. I’m so so sorry for missing your comment until now. I get so many notifications daily that I tend to miss a few. I’m sorry to hear that this happened. Was you able to get it worked out? I have heard of customers bringing in charms/bracelets and having things go missing but I haven’t heard of this issue before but it’s possible since they no longer make this style anymore so they may have had to use the newer metal to fix it which really sucks for the customer!

@fab_fashionista Hi yes they were! The crazy thing is, it took a lot of work of calls back and forth between the Customer Service Product Care Dept and the store manager. We finally agreed that I would bring in an older bracelet that I purchased from a Pawn Shop to then place on my bracelet. It looks good now but I wouldn’t want to go through that again so I will NEVER agree to any suggestions to “adjust” or even “polish” in store because then they could strip the piece of its oxidation.

@pf78216 I’m so happy that you were able to get it worked out!

@fab_fashionista I am grateful for your product description. I wouldn’t have been able to pinpoint what was wrong with the clasp until I realized the silver really was of a different composition & of lesser luster. I also (thank God) had pictures of the bracelet upon drop off to compare what was done to it. I would recommend that everyone take a photo of what you are dropping off because yes I fear that I wouldn’t get the same charm back or in the same condition.

@pf78216 I’m so happy that my info was helpful and yes! That is sound advice! I’ve heard of many people say that they took their JA bracelets with new charms to be attached and or old charms to be cleaned and they go missing. So photographing your pieces beforehand is a very good idea! Thanks for that tip!
