@rmhernandez76 hi! Do you know where I might find the James Avery sunflower charm in 14 kt gold? Thanks for your time!

@sportmel883 Since the item is retired I would recommend eBay or here. The only other place would be a pawn shop. JA at one point would custom make items after they retired but due to the cost to make just one it wasn’t cost effective. They do bring things out of retirement if there is interest in it. Go to the webpage and choose contact, make a product suggestion. I know many people including myself like the sunflower charms.

I am interested in this charm. However, is the price of this charm really $1,999? Is this a typo? Maybe it means $199? Please advise. Thank you.

@rmhernandez76 any idea of when this was in circulation? I emailed CS and they stated “we unfortunately no longer have the dates of when it was in circulation”

@s_tell1008 not sure exactly. One was flown on challenger flight in 1983 from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander Paul Weitz.

@rmhernandez76 Some onsite NASA centers have them at their gift shops. Call around to them. I work at one and I have seen very few in Houston. This price is outrageous! It's a charm, not a replica. I wouldn't pay a car downpayment for it no matter what!

@rmhernandez76 I knew I remembered them remaking one-offs for people! I went to the store the other day and asked if they still do that and they looked at me like I was crazy. “No, retired means retired forever” haha

Did you have this special made?

@kshaw1921 I agree with you! I work at NASA- Our gift shop has been closed because of the pandemic but I’m almost positive once the center is open at 100% capacity, and the gift shop is open, that more will be available. The price gouging on this is absolutely disgusting.

I have this in silver when my daughter was in 5 th grade. She visited NASA and was in the junior astronauts program. She is now 29. I’m glad I never got rid of their bracelets! Beautiful charm in gold!

Nice piece. Descent price, too. Gold isn’t cheap. And, this piece is even more rare than the croc charm some are willing to upwards of 500 - 800+. 🥰🚀
