annam009 @beccaber Hi there!! I'm sorry for such a late response... These are really stretchy. The XL would definitely fit past 40" hips. I measure 40" in the hips and wear a medium. Hope this helps.

annam009 @fonta30 Hi there!! It depends on how you like your jeans to fit. If you like a snug fit, the medium would probably do. These are stretchy and can accommodate different sizes. I wear a medium and have been any where from a size 12 to size 8. I had to work at getting the zipper up when I was at a larger size, but it could be done 😅. These are my favorite.
