Never worn small J.Crew khaki joggers with good stretchiness, drawstrings & button, open (not elastic) ankles. I typically wear pants in 30 or 31 and most things generally in medium, but these small pants fit me closer than the mediums did. I just decided they don't quite fall the way I prefer and it was too late to return them.
