Indonesian Wayang Golek Puppets - Mid 1900s

Original Cirebon (West Java) Wayang Golek puppets Stands are included Circa 1950s - 1960s They depict Rama (left) and Sita (right), ancient Hindu Prince and Princess who are exiled from their palace and form a storyline prevalent throughout Southeast Asia. Not that the condition is generally good. There are several tears in the clothing as these where actively used. Some of the strings connecting the parts were replaces. But the sticks and parts are otherwise original. Patina is typical of the age.
