I’ve been searching for these original mittens since the movies came out, but with renewed gusto after the saga renaissance. (In the northeast, they’d get a lot of use during winter!) Ruth Cross no longer makes these, and I’d prefer to buy the mittens secondhand / preloved. Apparently the costumer originally bought them at a boutique in Portland, OR…any authentic mittens I’ve found here have already sold. If you have a pair looking for a new home, please share! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 From what I can find, the mittens in the films were charcoal grey. yoga4joy I’m in the Seattle area and go to forks every summer! I was just there to spread my brother in laws ashes bc he loved forks and was there with us every summer too and he passed away in Sept. Forks is such a peaceful healing place to be and I bet someone whose a great artisan & crafty at knitting could make these! I wish that was me! If I see anything like it I’ll msg you 💖Joy

librarian_nic @yoga4joy Forks and Seattle are character locations in their own right during the series. The first movie’s so atmospheric it made me homesick for places I haven’t been to (yet)! If you have recommendations for places to visit in Seattle/Forks or Washington in general, please message me.🙂 Ruth Cross did make her pattern free to use after shutting down the business, but most artists that knit the mittens use acrylic yarn. (It works for most folks, but my body does not like synthetic material.)

librarian_nic I’m sorry about your brother-in-law, but that’s wonderful that you have so many happy memories with him! Thanks for popping by my closet; I’ll visit yours soon. 😁

yoga4joy @nicoletcunha hey lovely! You sound very thoughtful and smart! I can’t wear synthetic materials either! I have very sensitive skin and absolutely am obsessed with high quality vintage fashion bc things are made of silk and cotton so much more often than cheap acrylic and polyester in comparison now! I hope you can find the exact mittens you want!!

yoga4joy @nicoletcunha I have so many ideas on beautiful places to visit. I think a must is snoqualmie falls and driving through snoqualmie pass and stopping among the way to play in the snow is great in the winter months ❄️ in summer there are a lot of hidden gems spanning from maple valley to snoqualmie pass. North bend is beautiful and anything east of that is nice too. I love Franklin falls for a short hike and there are lots of great places even if you are closer to the city.

yoga4joy @nicoletcunha thanks for the condolences grieving is tough! I’ve been pretty depressed but I’m trying to snap out of it and find ways to be present for the upcoming holiday! If you are here between December 4th and New Year’s Eve there is a sweet little town called Leavenworth that you must visit ✨♥️
