chelseaanna0 It is very important that people research an item before purchasing! I see a Cykxtees dress on here and other sites constantly, priced at $100+ and marked "vintage" while it is available on Amazon for $30. Thank you for posting this! it's good to raise awareness!

theda_b @chelseaanna0 Interesting. The real Cykxtees went out of business many years ago. The stuff on Amazon actually looks counterfeit. The stuff I had from them in the ‘90s was really high quality. But yeah. Always research before buying something pricey or labeled rare on a reselling site like this.

chelseaanna0 @theda_b Ah, I wondered why it was on Amazon. I assumed it was a Lip Service situation and the company was just owned by someone else now. I would bet money that the majority of those dresses on these sites were bought from Amazon. I own two original Cykxtees dresses and the quality is fantastic!

theda_b @chelseaanna0 I guess it’s possible that they legitimately bought the name, but the listings don’t show the tags and they have a lot of grammatical errors, which is pretty typical for Chinese knock-offs. I’ve seen the same kind of thing with knock offs of FairyGothMother corsetry. I’m now kind of tempted to buy one of the cheap Amazon pieces just to see what shows up.

terradansby I hate that s$%@ too!! I saw someone recently selling target $1 aisle Halloween decorations for $30 a piece.....took me all I had not to say something but I figure if someone not smart enough to do research than that's on them...but they also didn't outright lie about it being discontinued or whatever...which is shady af...get em! 😉

snottybabe @neptual Always worth asking for close ups! Also, I tend to keep an eye out for the styles that A***** has being sold elsewhere as new with tags. I find it to be a red flag.

rosebud5881 This particular dress may be on the current Lip Service website but this print is a reproduction from the Original Lip Service Collection put out in Spring of 2004 called You B*tch You Sl*t I have the skirt and the Bikini set!! Collectors will know by the tags and size labels if it is a true vintage piece:) There has been a few reproductions I have come across.
