I will now video All items before I ship due to fraudulent claims! Items are being damaged after they have reached customers and then approved by Poshmark to return to me. I have to say that most of all my customers that purchase from me are very happy and I love all my customers. There is a small few new ones that have purchased and received the item to damage it by trying it on or some other way then open a case to say it was damaged when they got it. I have pictures in the listing to prove it was not damaged before it shipped and still was not believed and now I'm receiving back damaged property. This is a huge loss and I just don't want this to happen to anyone else. The only way to prevent this I can see is to do a video of your items from end to end before you ship it so the customer will not be able to say it was damaged when they received it. Please, I am only making this post to help other sellers. I love POSHMARK and have been here for a very long time but this is the 2nd time I have had something damaged and sent back.
Most of all my customers are amazing and faithful and I still love the ones who damage my items and yes, I do forgive you. But I plan to take safer measures from now on to help us all. Please VIDEO ALL SALES AND ITEMS BEFORE SHIPPING TO PREVENT DAMAGES, THEFT OR ITEM SWITCHES.
Video every part of your items and write down all heat stamps and serial numbers to prevent any theft or switches of your items. I hope this helps.

@diannamaszk Yes my friend! We sold our Genuine Red Fox Fur Coat and the buyer must have tried it on and ripped it in the back and opened a case saying it was ripped when they received it and Posh allowed them to return it to me. I even had pictures of the coat in my listing showing that part of the coat and there were no rips. So I had to make this post to help others. I don't want this to happen to anyone else 🙏

@jacobmeade84 😞I’m sorry this happened to you! This just happened to me with a coat as well. But this buyer just decided they didn’t like it after receiving-then rubbed dirt on it to get a refund. I to had photos of perfect condition. So sad

@@ jacobmeade84. Thanks for writing this I felt lit I was the only one this happened to. It sad that people have ti be so dishonest. Posh did make my situation right. Mostly because I challenged the dishonest person and I had very good listing pictyres. I take as many pictures as I can front back sides etc. that way posh sees item was in good condition.i do love selling here and almost all of my five years have been wonderful. 🌹🩷💕👍

Good idea! I recently had two purchases where they tried to say the items were damaged. I know for a fact they were not when I mailed. Poshmark sited on my side thankfully. I guess this happens more than it should unfortunately.

Sorry this happened to you! This used to happen to me before but it has stopped since. I think a lot of people take advantage of the posh policies and ruin it for others. Dont worry , we here for you. Come back and lets have some fun! I hope youre okay are okay!

1) I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I’ve never experienced the same. but have dealt with nasty entitles closet visitors. And, BS on return from sellers with a high profit margin. I alway take photos and videos of those I suspect before shipment. It’s noted in my closet as well. However let’s face it and I’ll be the one to say it, the biggest problem is POSH. With ALL the money it makes off of us, it does NOT offer ANY customer service

2) Because to me, a seasoned customer service professional, the email they send, does NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE MAKE! There’s no telephone or technical assistance or support for ANYTHING either. No human contact. We don’t even know who’s making the final decision and work it out amongst ourselves in the end.
It made 326.01 MILLION last year and we’re still having to deal with unethical buyers. While scammers and hackers have increased exponentially. And we have this issue!

3) I just had an issue with a return from a closet I purchased from. And, that’s what I got a joke of an email denying my input of a $200 purchase I couldn’t return!
My response included a portion of what I just posted. You all should say and/or demand the same when you end up being taken advantage of by POSH on both ends as a seller and as a buyer. They never lose. You do.

I'm sorry this happened to you and others who posted here. I'm so glad you brought this to our attention though! I'm new at this whole thing and never thought about people damaging stuff after they received it and then getting a refund while the seller gets the item back damaged. I will definitely start to record my items before shipping. Thanks for the tip!

@abrazosybesos Hi! I am so sorry about your hardship and yes I wish someone we could make it safe for everyone. I just try to be as detailed as possible with the items in description and pictures. Then I will take more video before shipping of anything and everything I feel will be needed in case of another trying to damage and return something. Posh did make it right in the end with making sure I was paid for the item the price I originally asked for the item.

Thank you for sharing! I usually take pictures of the items before I pack the order and then after I give it to the post office. Do you suggest video taping it instead? hi You are not alone! I have had this happen to me by a fake acct & scammer, imposter bad actor posing as friend! . You can counter claim or just easier to block them they dont need this to make a living or supplement retirement. Its hard w bullies & scammers n most poshers are great, be careful. I made shop policies! I love my fellow poshers like you and my customers too. But the Bad apples are evil n ruining posh. We cannot let this hapoen.We love our poshmark n must protect it.

I have had a couple out of many years on here & didn’t know (or felt like) I wasn’t even making a profit- my job downsized so I have had to & still are trying to post while find something else & the fear that comes is crazy! Only say 2-3 out of all but it hurts! And I love resale and Poshmark it’s so big now that you make a point and will use! Have a great one!

@jacobmeade84 thank you for posting this. I also had the same happen to me. ☹️ I also had a different scam attempt where the person bought a large 10-item bundle from me, and then claimed two of the biggest priced items (gold jewelry items) were not included in the box…. which they absolutely were.

@jacobmeade84 She opened up a claim because she knows that Poshmark would make her return the entire bundle in that situation, and she would get a 100% refund, and I would be OUT the two “missing” items…when in reality, those two items were never missing. She KEPT those two items and returned the 8. It’s a pretty devious scam.

Very sad. I had a $855 watch that went to Authentication First and when the Buyer received it claimed that it had lots of flaws. You could see my pics and hers and it was a totally different watch and she was granted a refund and also kept my like new watch. Jeweler put in a battery for me agreed.
Wish buyers like this were blocked. It would make for a much better experience for all. This wasn't my first time either. Gotta appreciate the Majority. Karma does catch up!!!

Thank you! I stopped selling on another platform because this happened to me. I thought PM would do better. I think the original owners of PM treated sellers better. I haven’t had any personal issues with the new owners but, I can tell things are different.

The other platform wouldn’t even return the “damaged” item to me. I could have repaired it but, I didn’t get that opportunity. So, I’m sure the buyer repaired it and kept it free of charge. That buyer even told me that nearly everything he buys is damaged when he receives it. That is nearly a confession but, that platform still sided with him

@jacobmeade84 had a similiar situation w return w/a mint, vintage Burberry item & once received, they claimed it was not authentic, of which I proved not to be the case., Then they ‘found’ (made) a stain. Return approved and I open a case. I rec’d credit from PM - but learned a lesson

@cjsherman73 Oh yes I've also had that happen to me as well. Seems some buyers, very few, but they buy long enough to use within their 4 days and then return the item using some kind of excuse. We have to be as careful as we know to do and hope this don't happen. I'm happy they reimbursed you dear. I'm sorry that happened to you 🙏

@jacobmeade84 No, just ended up losing $855. All my friends who are sellers they always see in their favor, but everytime I have a return request they see in the buyers favor even though I furnish pics that show it's not the same item or the damage they caused. Had a belt buckle stolen off a belt, had a pair of designer shoes come back with a major slit in the bottom in order to return them, still saw in their favor even though i presented proof. Sad :(

Was just sharing your items and saw this information. I video everything prior to shipping as well -- I'm thankful I've never had an issue, but I read about others dealing with bait and switch, so I started videoing my sales. I even get my Google assistant to say the date and time at the beginning of each video, because things are hard enough without dealing with someone stealing from you through misrepresentation.
