UNBELIEVABLE set of vintage bakelite handle knives in their original plastic box with the covers still on the blades!
Each handle depicts Alaskan scenes using the art form of scrimshaw. All signed by the artist, Howard Weychok. This is a vintage set of 8 Carvel Hall by Briddell steak knifes. The knives are hand scrimshawed and signed by Unupiat Eskimo artist Howard Weychok (Rock). The knives each measure 8 1/4" long. They are sharp. Howard Weychok is from Point Hope, Alaska (1911-1976). He was voted Alaskan of Artist of The Year and his "Tundra Times" newspaper was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for journalism.
Each knife features a different design.
The stainless steel blades are SHARP and clean and still in their cardboard sleeves. This set is in like new condition with the exception of one knife as shown having a crack in the handle. It is solid though and is not a crack that affects the use of the knife.
