The resolution is most impressive at high quality recording mode. Even at lowest quality setting, the images appeared smooth, except scenes that include a high amount of motion. Color representation is accurate and moderately bright. Dark scenes show up decent & it’s equipped with a low light mode. In extreme close-ups, small details show up real nice, which is a pleasure to see on camcorders that have a 1/6” CCD. It records audio in MPEG-2, linear PCM, and Dolby Digital.
