@heartcandycanes they were to keep my cat's thyroid issue in control while waiting for the scheduled I-131. I have no more.

@wen_ying thanks for letting me know. They just put my cat on this medicine for his thyroid cause he’s going to the bathroom constantly and eating constantly.

@heartcandycanes I was told this food is safe for healthy cats to consume too (because I have 4 cats and they share food). It is just very expensive to do that. So even though this food requires prescription, it is not medicine.
Hope your cat gets better with the diet change. My cat was eating fine, but his weight kept dropping. That's why I took him to see vet. The I-131 was very effective. I am sure your vet would consider the option depending on your cat's condition.

@wen_ying what is the 1-131 for? They said he has a tyroid issuer and has lost a lot of weight. They put him on this food - and yes it is very expensive.

@heartcandycanes Iodine-131 (I-131) therapy is a treatment for hyperthyroidism in cats that involves injecting a radioactive form of iodine under the skin. Our cat stayed at the facility for 4 days (we dropped him on Tuesday and picked him up on Friday). Some cats stay for 5 days. Then we brought him home and collected all the house soiling in the garage in the garage. After 2 weeks, we were allowed to toss as trash. There was no recovery time. He was like a normal cat the entire time.
