Herb Washington Signed Official Size & Weight Orange Baseball.

Cantankerous Charles O. Finley, owner of the ‘70’s Oakland A’s actually had some good and innovating ideas that he presented to the bid shots of baseball and had partial success. Two of these ideas were to have orange colored baseballs for better vision in night games, and he also had the idea to hire and add to the roster the fastest man in the world to be his “Designated Runner”, that’s going in as a pinch runner for a guy who made first and either steal extra bases or take the extra base on a hit. Now you can have a piece of both inventions in this Official League baseball made by DeBeers of Troy, NY signed by the one and only Herb Washington himself. Herb signed it for me at a McDonalds function in St. Thomas and it comes with my collection’s own No BS Guaranteed COA. Signed in black Sharpie and, while still very strong, has bled just a tad which isn’t bad for an item that’s going on 50 yrs old.
