rjrkbythebay @christansey - Sorry that I could not accept your offer of $10 (or your counter of $13) on my brand new Bates Shoes listed at $45. These shoes are still being sold online for $129. Look them up - Batesfootwear . com. $45 is an extremely reasonable price given that they are brand new in the box in perfect condition.

goldrim
goldrim @rjrkpt Hi Rachel, If someone bundles, I don't have to reply unless they "offer" correct? What if an item sells when buyer/seller were in middle of bidding, what happens?
Aug 02Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @goldrim Great question! If someone bundles you CAN respond if you choose, or wait to see if they make an offer. If someone else buys an item in the bundle, the item will be marked sold and cannot be purchased by the original bundler.
Aug 02Reply
goldrim
goldrim @rjrkpt thank you!
Aug 02Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @goldrim Now a separate possible situation: if you and another person are negotiating and someone else comes along and pays full price and buys your item, the 1st person you were negotiating with can no longer buy it unless you cancel the full price sale (I would not recommend that). Lesson learned for the first person...

Aug 02Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @goldrim When you enter their closet, in the top right look for the gear, click on it, you should see report and block. For an individual listing you see a flag near the share icon, same idea, click on it and it pulls up a menu to report (spam, offline transaction requests, etc...)

bluelefantfinds @rjrkpt I've gotten pretty excited about Poshmark! I'm sharing mine and others' items and following other Poshers. I even had my username updated today, so that I could start a baby brand for my closet. I know a huge part of this is just patience, but I was wondering if you could peak at my closet and give any tips, feedback, or suggestions for how to improve photos, sales, selection etc.- Thank you for your generous offer to help me out on day 1! Looking forward to hearing/learning from you. 😁

bluelefantfinds
bluelefantfinds @rjrkpt just checking in to see if you got a chance to look at my closet, or came up with any advice? Thank you!
Aug 16Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @bluelefantfinds yes! I've got feedback for you, it might take a few separate entries since they limit the word count. I think your pricing is good. I would try to unify your closet a little more. You have many different backgrounds and shot angles. There is no theme or repetitive pattern that will help buyers recognize your closet. Choose 1-2 backgrounds. Take all photos at the same angle for better symmetry. This unifies your closet to help shoppers view more efficiently.
Aug 16Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @bluelefantfinds I love the photo you took with the ankle boots. You have a similar background in the Kate Spade jewelry listing. Another great photo. That could be a theme in your closet, using a little bit of the outdoors in your photos. I love outdoor shots myself. I would recommend adding measurements to every listing whenever possible. You did a great job being upfront about flaws, that helps buyers believe you are honest.
Aug 16Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @bluelefantfinds I recommend slowly adding inventory, ideally 3/day, to expand your pool of shoppers. You need to improve your titles. Ex: the Converse dress and the Lauren Conrad blouse, add the brand name to the title to improve people's ability to find it via a Google search. Think about what YOU might search to find that dress yourself and it will help you write your titles. No one searches for "stunning dress" instead they may search for "metallic floral midi tank dress".
Aug 16Reply
bluelefantfinds
bluelefantfinds @rjrkpt your advice is awesome!!! 👌👌👌 I'll work on taking some new shots to make my closet more cohesive. Your title suggestion is perfect too, going to work on these, thank you! I might touch back with you once i update, to see what you think 😁 Thank you, thank you!!!
Aug 16Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @bluelefantfinds your shipping time is great! I recommend you follow 10 new Poshers/day, share 1-2 items from their closet and they'll likely follow you back. That will build followers. Share your closet 3x/day via the edit button. When you have time share from the main feed and share to/from the parties. Congratulate Host Pick recipients and many of them will share from your closet to increase your exposure. Hopefully I haven't overwhelmed you! Lots to think about 😉 Rachel

Aug 19Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @heddo Hi! One very important thing to know - if you do not "tag" someone when you post a comment, they may never see it if they don't happen to watch their news feed. During a busy time I would have completely missed your message until I had a reason to come to this listing. You tag by writing "@" and their closet name, so for me it's @rjrkpt I will go look at your closet and get back to you shortly.
Aug 19Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @heddo it is definitely not your pricing. Your pricing looks perfect. Your cover shots are fabulous 👍🏼 I absolutely love the ones against the brick wall with the ladder. Perfect way to display your lovely items! I do have some suggestions for you. First you need to include measurements on your items. Example Joe fresh dress size medium. Add bust (lay flat and measure armpit to armpit), Length (top of shoulder to hem) and sleeve length (from top shoulder seam to the end). To be continued…
Aug 19Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @heddo Some skip listings without measurements. Also include fabric content. Some folks avoid items they have to dryclean so adding machine washable can help. State new, used and what condition. "Beautiful and super flattering" are subjective and may not resonate with buyers. To save time you can photograph the item being measured and photograph the materials tag and in your listing refer to the photos (i.e. see photos for measurements and materials).
Aug 19Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @heddo The other aspect of getting your stuff to sell on Poshmark is sharing. You definitely need to up your shares! Share your entire closet with your followers three times a day. Share from the feed (others' closets) when you have time and they will return your shares which increases your closet exposure. Increase your number of followers too. Best way to do that is by sharing a lot and following new sellers. Send 10/day a Welcome to Poshmark note. The vast majority will add you as a follower.
Aug 19Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @heddo last Lee, I highly encourage you to list three new items per day (if you have additional inventory). Regular listing seems to help boost your exposure and I think that has to do with the Poshmark algorithm, something you don't have true control over but does affect your sales greatly. I hope this information helps you. Rachel

Aug 20Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @heddo You're welcome. IF you have time, Edit, Next, List, but if you only that time to share the fast way, that's better than no sharing :-)
Aug 20Reply
livinirie84
livinirie84 @rjrkpt can you explain the difference between the editing to share vs just sharing. Why is one better?
Aug 27Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @livinirie84 Great question! When you edit it moves your item to the top of the list of similar items, when you just share but don't edit it does not have the same affect to move your item high up in the listings but it does get it seen by everyone online at the time. Also when you edit/share it moves your items higher on the party listing page so when someone goes back to look at an old party your items will be higher up on the list.
Aug 27Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @bbrowniie3 your closet is looking great! Here's a tip to help your sales. Add measurements. Sometimes people browse and if they don't see measurements they move on and look elsewhere instead of asking. Another thing you can do in your sweater dress listing is add that the shoes are available in a separate listing. Suggesting they bundle them is an "upselling" technique you could try. ❤️ Rachel

rjrkbythebay @yukibar I am tagging you because there is some valuable information in the comments. I have other listings that you can read through to get some great tips from experienced sellers. On a quick glance I think many of your items are priced far too low. Your Clarks shoes priced $18. That leaves you no room for negotiating. Also if things are priced too low people think something is wrong with them. It might sound counterintuitive but raise your prices you might see an increase in sales.
Apr 22Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @yukibar another thing I see in your closet is your self shares are very low. Don’t forget to share your own closet before you share things from other people’s closets!
Apr 22Reply
yukibar
yukibar @rjrkpt Thank you thank you for all your input. Those Clarks were one of my original listings and they are in excellent pre-owned condition. Likes but no sales :(
Apr 22Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @yukibar You could try searching for those same or similar shoes currently on sale at Poshmark. Then open the listing and follow all the likers.
Apr 22Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @yukibar You have lovely items in your closet! I absolutely will say you have for underpriced yourself. Beautiful men’s shoes that were a host pick are a great brand, new looking and could sell for 50% above your asking price! The Allegria nursing shoes should sell for no less than your listing price! I saw another Clarks you listed at $14 and they should sell for more than that too. If you price them that low, then you can’t have room to negotiate.
Apr 22Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @yukibar One thing to keep in mind regarding SEO is it only counts the first 10 and the last 10 words of your listing. Think about how someone would search for this item on Google. The words “host pick” In your first 10 or last 10 words is a waste because no one is searching for “host picks” on Google. Put that in the middle somewhere.
Apr 22Reply
yukibar
yukibar @rjrkpt Rachel thank you thank you thank you for all your input and suggestions. I didn't even know what SEO means - WOW. I price low based on comps on PM feeling like I don't want to price myself ouot of the market. Feeling the love <3 <3
Apr 23Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @yukibar Yes you don’t want to overprice either, but you need to add a minimum of 20% over your target sold price to allow for offers, negotiation, otherwise you’ll get offers of $5. Trust me, higher starting prices are going to help you. Ideally, don’t just raise the prices you have. Delete and re-list at the higher price so it shows up in “new listings”. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.

rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @cookiesforme This several other listings in my closet are full of great tips. Browse and ask more specific questions about situations you are encountering. At minimum, sharing your closet 3x/day will get you some good traffic. The bigger your closet the harder that gets 😬 After that, go to the main feed and share a few listings of other sellers. That will often get them to follow you. The more followers the better, then you have a larger audience.

yukibar @rjrkpt @rjrkpt Hi there Rachel. Thanks so much. I've been shopping and listing as time allows. I'm getting many 1 item bundles and when I make an offer, there's no answer. Oh well.
May 30Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @yukibar One thing to try, if you aren’t already doing this, reach out to the prospective buyer. Let them know you offer a bundle discount on multiple items and see if they might want to add a second item. Sometimes I ask if there is something special they are looking for. I might have it in my stash and I can make a listing and then tag them. That has helped me sell some bundles before!
May 30Reply
yukibar
yukibar @rjrkpt I have reached out to 'remind' them they bundled, but I'll try that next time. Honestly I think people don't realize they've bundled an item.

allygator12
allygator12 Hi could you please take a look at my closet? I would love some advice on how I can improve my closet and work on becoming a host pick :)
Aug 04Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @allygator12 Your closet looks great :-) Keep adding items (ideally 3 per day to boost your sales). The more items in your closet the more likely an item will match well with the Party Theme. Read the Hosts Party listings carefully. Some hosts ask for NO TAGS, NO SHARES to the dressing room while others ask you to do one of those things. Following the hosts instructions will help. If you have never had a HP, tell the hosts that in a comment under their party listing.
Aug 04Reply
allygator12
allygator12 @rjrkpt Thank you so much! Those are really amazing advice. It's so awesome how welcoming and kind the Poshmark community has been! :)
Aug 04Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @allygator12 Do NOT "spam" their listings (leave tags/comments about the party on their sale listings). Do not tag if they request you don't tag. Be sure you look ahead and move the listings that fit the party theme to the top of your closet an hour or 2 before the party. That helps the host quickly find things that fit the theme. Hosts only have 2 hours to find 100 Host Picks, Write a note to those they have chosen, share their listing and ensure their closets are compliant.

rjrkbythebay @allygator12 Keep up the good work and KUDOS for keeping a compliant closet.

kls_glamour2014
kls_glamour2014 @rjrkpt thank you for this post. I have read through and changed many things. I already had measurements but didn't think about making a theme. I added tags at the bottom of each listing for SEO. I wonder about my prices, this is my second go at selling before I had lower prices and received $3 offers😫 Currently I have small interest a few bundles and then they immediately decline my offers of 20-30%off. (Tanks and bralettes) Can you check out my closet and see if my prices are too high?
Aug 22Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @kls_glamour2014 I just looked at your closet. Your prices are NOT too high. If anything, you could even go a little higher. I think they are fine where they are. My challenge to you: List 3 items a day every day, share your closet/others closet’s more often. Sales will come if you do those things. It seems that the algorithm boosts sales for those with 100+ listings. Are you in the Poshmark analytics group on FB?
Aug 22Reply
kls_glamour2014
kls_glamour2014 @rjrkpt Thanks I will add a little more to my future listings. Oh yes been trying to add as many as my little one will let me each day😎 toddler never know what her mood will be next. 😋 No I'm not on any Facebook poshmark groups. Which one(s) do you recommend. How does it help?
Aug 22Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @kls_glamour2014 Poshmark Analytics for sure. There is no drama like many of the other Facebook groups and it’s all data shared based on different research we do in the group. They ask that you try a prescribed formula for 1 to 2 weeks and see if it helps your sales. For most people it does.

indieandbee Hi @rjrkpt :) I’d love some feedback. I joined PM awhile back but really just started selling. I *am* aware that I need to retake some photos for a cohesive look and I am going through slowly working on a format for each listing and including measurements. I’m still working on pricing fairly without shorting myself and not overpricing. Anyway, thanks in advance! Indie

rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @indieandbee OK I just took a look at your closet and I have a few suggestions. Overall it looks good, yes re-shoot slowly over time to make the closet more uniform, I agree with you that it would look even better. Be careful with spelling (check your title on Lands end shoes).
Sep 02Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @indieandbee You could improve your descriptions a bit. The first 10 words in the last 10 words of your description make a huge difference. Think about how you would try to find this item on a Google search. Those of the words that should be in your first 10 and last 10 words in your listing. Slightly different, so not exactly the same sentences though. I would also remove emoji’s from titles and 1st/last sentences of your description as they can interfere with Google searches.
Sep 02Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @indieandbee In the handful of specific listings I reviewed I notice you do not give any measurements. I find it helpful to include measurements whenever possible. Not all sellers agree with me on this one and it can be a bit time consuming to add them all so maybe just for future listings think about incorporating measurements into your details of your listing.
Sep 02Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @indieandbee I think most of your prices seem OK although, I thought a few were low for starting prices (your Tony Lama cowboy boots and a few other items I noticed). Try starting a little higher and using the “offer to buyers” option to give a discounted price and or discounted/free shipping.

dosojosverdes @rjrkbythebay, read them all. I believe I am not using Poshmark to it's fullest. Example: sending listing offer to buyers... how? Tagging or not tagging a person... 🤔 do not know what that is... I get encouraged and discouraged equally thinking about it all. It's not u, it's me❣😣

rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes “Offer to Likers” is a fairly new feature that you can choose to use by clicking on the price drop (on the bottom right of any listing), then choose a percentage you want to drop the price + shipping discounts as a private offer for the “Likers” on any listing.
Oct 10Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes I only tag people when they request it. Like if they tell me they are looking for a specific item, once I have it listed I tag them to notify them.

rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes - I wanted to respond in a “less visible” location. For pricing, I recommend a Google search first. I looked up Primrose Sterling Silver CZ Necklace and it brought up many Kohl’s listings. Retail/tagged price $60 were all being sold for $24. Given that info, if I were a listing this necklace I would NOT include the brand in my listing (It is not required). List accurately as NWT Sterling Silver CZ Pendant Necklace Retail price $60, list for $39 🤞 hope to get offers of $20-30.

dosojosverdes @rjrkbythebay........ but the tag says 60.00...........yes, kohls........what are we doing up at this hour??? My time is 2.30 am, hubby snoring..............your time, do u get up early, or have not gone to sleep yet? I'm sleeeeeepy............thanks for your kind help and concern, Rachel, thanks sincerely! Did you get to Dallas? Poshfest? Tell me abt it?..?..?...?. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Nov 05Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes lol I don’t sleep well. Yes, jewelry is notoriously priced (“tagged price”) way higher than the actual selling price. Often 3-4 times higher than it will actually sell for. You can list it as high as you like, but buyers are generally smart enough to do their own search and will not likely pay more than they can get it for at the store. If it is a sought-after brand and is sold out in the stores, then you can ask for more. (Pandora, David Yurman, Kate Spade...)

rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes I am technically on Etsy but no listings yet! I know that’s not very helpful 😬 I have a few friends that sell on that platform so I know something about it. Good for vintage. The Monet jewelry is a solid 20 to 25 especially for signed pieces.

rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes I am similar to you, working better at night. Hot tea before bed, turning off electronics, no TV all help me sleep better but I’m not good at doing those things regularly. I worked late at the hospital and have a long drive home so I need coffee to be sure I stay awake. Then once I get home I’m up for hours!

rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes Yes the silly character limit is 500! I keep telling Poshmark they need a counter so you know when you’re reaching that number. Otherwise it’s very annoying! In order to make any money on YouTube you have to have a huge following and get sponsored by companies. I’m nowhere close.
Nov 06Reply
rjrkbythebay

rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes Poshmark is definitely working on becoming more Spanish friendly. They do have a large number of job openings but I don’t know if any can be telecommuting. I think you are correct but once I start making regular videos it will become successful! There is a steep learning curve for the editing process so that is what I’m working on.

rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes And if you are asking what do I do in the hospital, I am a physical therapist. I work on getting patients up after their surgery. On days like today they were coming out of surgery very late so I was still treating patients at 10 o’clock at night and then I have to write all my notes for the day plus an hour drive home! It makes for a long day...
Nov 06Reply
dosojosverdes
dosojosverdes More in common! I interpreted closely for PT, OT, speech, RN home visits; hospice, ICU conferences... hubby had a quintuple bypass with BOOP. 35 DAYS in ICU gave me PTSD. SO, I got assigned to the translation dept, and I loved doing that. I also do telephonic interpreting services from home; HCIN = video medical interpreting from home. Mom's needs are on the increase
Nov 06Reply
dosojosverdes
dosojosverdes But I learned SO SO SO MUCH FROM PT that I did not know I would be utilizing it on mom. I quit the hospital = Kaweah Delta Medical Center, Visalia, CA [Google it some day when you get bored, haaa]. Also OT, just loved that time I could see patients getting better, and leaving the hospital!

rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes It is easier for me to answer questions in one place so multiple people can benefit from the same answer. For CCO, you are prompted to lower the price to 10% less than the historically lowest price. If you raise the price back up after CCO you cannot just decreased by 10% anymore it must go to 10% below the lowest price you’ve ever had it listed for.
Dec 17Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes I’m trying to understand your other question. To participate in closet clear out your reduce the prices in your closet by 10%. You do this through the edit function in the top right corner of each listing. It sounds like you are making offers to likers instead If it is prompting you to give a shipping discount yourself.
Dec 17Reply
dosojosverdes
dosojosverdes @rjrkbythebay, sorry Rachel..........you are absolutely right. CCO VERSUS OFFER TO LIKERS, WHAT'S BEST.? I certainly am not making any money whatsoever...... The FB thing......yes a ton of friends... friends? Every single person I have ever met, is now my friend. Yeah, right. NOT! But I wanna sell my stuff, so, we'll call them all friends. Fine. The small window that pops up here on Posh, which links to FB, .... do I need to do more than POST? Thanks 💟❤❣ LuLu
Dec 18Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes I have far more success with offers to likers then I do see CCO. It’s also annoying to keep reducing the price to the point that you then have to relist because you’re not making any money. When something is not selling you have to look at the basics. Have you researched comps? Do you have good pictures with good lighting? Kong is it something people want?
Dec 18Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes As far as Facebook, the it can be a valuable tool as other selling platforms like offer up or let go. It all depends on what you are selling. You may have to reach out to specialized Facebook groups for unique or specific items that don’t sell well on Poshmark.
Dec 18Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes what sells well on Poshmark? Brands that consistently sell in most closets are: Kate spade, Tory Burch, Pandora, Anthropologie brands, reformation brands, Jeffrey Campbell shoes, Frye boots, mother jeans, Nike sneakers, Adidas sneakers, Lululemon leggings.
Dec 18Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes To succeed in selling on Poshmark you have to know what people are shopping for. You have to know what is in style and then find it, photograph it well, and market your self to the people looking for those items.
Dec 18Reply
rjrkbythebay
rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes How many times per day are you sharing your closet? Ideally you share the entire closet three times per day and you will see an increase in sales. How many times per day are you listing new items? Ideally three or more per day. These two things will help a lot.

dosojosverdes
dosojosverdes Rachel, I share and share. No, I don't have brands, such as you suggest are trend setters. My photos are decent. Prices have bottomed out. Cannot go any lower. People make bundles, they soon forget. I had no idea that I could relist... I will photograph bundles of those nickle and dime items that are killing me. It's nobody's fault, chalk up to inexperience. 😭😭😭😭😭

dosojosverdes One example, Just opened packaged VICTORIA SECRETS PAJAMAS, and had to open a case. Seller sent me junk, photos were great, description FALSE... Try incorporating keywords that someone would search to find this exact shirt in your title and your description. Title suggestion: Men’s Lucky Brand 2-pocket Polo Shirt (You can also add color if it fits) Description in the next comment

If you use the filler tool to look through my closet it may help you find what a I have. You can filter by brand, by category, size... I don’t think I have any Nike pro shorts listed right note but I may have some in my to be listed pile so I will look.
