Hoping a posher can help me out! I purchased this item secondhand through a reputable online dealer but the inside does not match my other Herve Leger items... it concerns me that the hangar straps are not the same color as the tag. Can anyone give me information on why this would be the case? Thank you very much!

stacy1607 Absolutely Authentic! I buy and sell these often. The underside of those hanger ties should be a peachy tan. You've got a real one!! :)

stacy1607 You're welcome to check out my listings to compare as well. The hanger ties will have a purplish black underside, or a peachy tan like yours. Your dress is authentic.

stacy1607 @hilleliza You're very welcome. I hate seeing all the fakes on here. Posh is really bad about enforcing the no counterfeit rules!!

stacy1607
stacy1607 @lizzzz77 For me it's easy, but at first you look at the interior Herve tag. Most have serial numbers, but that doesn't guarantee it's authentic. Then you look at hanger ties, which should be exactly like yours. They should be durable silk, not flimsy wrinkly satin. The bottom should have 2 lower tags that show model and the other is Care in Chinese writing. You can always tag me to get an opinion. You can also go to Lollipuff to learn more about authenticating. You can learn pretty quickly!

g0t_nancy @lizzzz77 How I authenticate: 1) The Herve Leger label are suppose have a thread sew at all four corners. In the newer styles, all four corners are sewn down at. Whereas the older styles are sewn down at the top two corners. 2) The Made in China label is suppose be sewn at the top two corners with the letters positioning is facing the right. As if you are reading from button to up. 3) The Care label is also suppose to be sewn at the two corners.

g0t_nancy @lizzzz77 Basically no labels should be sewed straight across.

hilleliza @justfashion1209 thanks for the info. I wasn’t comfortable with the quality of the item, so I ended up returning it. Not sure if it’s newer HL pieces, but this one just didn’t have the substance and quality of my older HL items that I’m used to.

lady_of_class @stacy1607 Hi there! So I buy and sell HL all the time but there is a dress listed on here that baffles me. I really want it for my vow renewal but don’t want a fake. There are actually 2 posted on here and they both appear real but are shown to be made in different countries. 1 has a serial the other doesn’t. Can I tag you? Thanks!

stacy1607 @lady_of_class Sure! If it’s a fake, I’ll answer on this post so the seller doesn’t report us.

lady_of_class @stacy1607 Just tagged you. The hanger straps look identical, but the made in tags are what confusing me. I know this dress well, it’s from the Fall 2011 Fashion Show. 😍😍😍

stacy1607
stacy1607 @lady_of_class That ivory one with the hardware looks like a sample. One of her others is too. That doesn’t mean they’re worthless, but you’ll have a much harder time selling it.
Apr 25Reply
stacy1607
stacy1607 First one is a sample. Hard to sell. The second is 100% Authentic from the store, not sewn together for a show like the first one.
Apr 25Reply
lady_of_class
lady_of_class @stacy1607 Gotcha! How can you tell the sample? The made in USA confused me.
Apr 25Reply
stacy1607
stacy1607 @lady_of_class The way the tag is and looking at her others that are exactly the same. One of hers has a black Herve tag hanging from the dress that is clearly a sample. It lists color and model which is not usually on a hanging attached brand tag. I'm not a fan of samples. They have a size tag, but they're sewn together to fit the model. Sometimes the zipper wont even match the dress.
Apr 25Reply
stacy1607
stacy1607 @lady_of_class Look at her sold one for 195.00. That attached black Herve tag is from a sample, not a retail store. They don't list things like dune, or a number when they're from the store. They have the model name, price and bar code. Her others are just the same with the interior tag having the country sewn in in a weird place.

lady_of_class
lady_of_class @stacy1607 Gotcha!!! Thank you for all the help and tips! I feel so much more knowledgeable now! Didn’t realize there was that much of a difference between samples and store pieces. Where do people even buy samples from?
Apr 26Reply
stacy1607
stacy1607 @lady_of_class You're welcome. People buy them from trunk shows. There's an ebay seller who sells a lot, but she Always discloses they're samples. A lot of people do not like samples. They're harder to authenticate, harder to sell, and are often times quickly sewn together to put on a model and that's it. That's their sole purpose is to be on a model, not for resale.

wesleywolf @stacy1607 Hi Stacy! I hope you don’t mind, but I just tagged you on a listing after stumbling across this thread. I can’t find this style anywhere online - even after reverse image searching for it. Any guesses on its authenticity? Xo.

annaawilson @stacy1607 Hi there, Stacy! Do you mind if I tag you in my post of a Herve Leger sequin dress for you to look at and tell me what you think in terms of authenticity? I would be absolutely mortified if I was selling something that is not authentic! Thank you so much!
Oct 02Reply
stacy1607
stacy1607 @annaawilson Hi! I took a look at the sequin Herve. It's an older model before serial numbers. I don't like those at all, but it appears authentic based on the upper brand tag and hanger ties. The great thing is if you do buy it, and you pay over 500, Posh will authenticate it, then mail it to you if it passes. Personally, I think it is way, way overpriced! You could get that brand new on The Real Real for probably 200 if, and when they get it in stock. .

mclovinrunner
mclovinrunner @stacy1607 so are the zippers not always the ones that say Herve Leger? I’m wondering if two I looked at and purchased are fake also. Can I possibly tag you? I got the blue one and it doesn’t fit the way a small fits on me and the zipper isn’t the same
Oct 21Reply
stacy1607
stacy1607 @mclovinrunner The zippers can differ. If it’s a full back zip (top to bottom) , they typically have the Herve Leger logo pull, but if it’s just a normal zip they’re just painted standard zipper pulls. You can tag me and I’ll look at them.
Oct 21Reply
stacy1607
stacy1607 The burgundy dress that sold for 90 is the latest Herve Leger tag. It is authentic, but just a newer style tag. The lower interior tag should show the name and color of the dress.
