We use beautiful, thick, oiled 8-10 ounce cherrywood red vegetable tanned American Steer Hide with chocolate brown straps for this strong and ample tote. Adjustable straps that cradle the load, solid brass hardware, hand stitched. 12 inches wide, 12 inches high, and 3.5 inches deep. Leather is a natural product, and each piece we work with has a slightly different grain pattern. We carefully lay out our patterns to showcase the beauty of all parts of a hide, which results in bags that are truly one of a kind. Our signature hand stitching is informed by our study of shoemaking. It involves hand punching each hole with a very sharp diamond point awl, then sewing with two needles at once, joining the pieces together seamlessly. As a result, the insides of our bags show little or no stitching, and feature clean, crisp lines that are just as beautiful as the outsides. Really lovey bag!
