Dress would be easily lengthened by adding another ruffle of fabric at the bottom, or to coordinate and integrate the new fabric into the dress, remove the lowest ruffle, flatten out some of the gathers, & sandwich the new gathered fabric between two pieces of the original fabric. It will look fabulous, and closely resemble original pioneer outfits.
