History: It is believed that French and Italian nuns in the 15th century used quilling to decorate religious objects. The name "quilling" is thought to have come from the use of bird feathers (quills) to coil the paper. The art of quilling requires much patience by the artist for it is very detail oriented and can take a significant amount of time to produce one piece of art. The art work and glass is in excellent condition, the wood composite frame shows some signs of wear as shown, but does not impede the integrity of the piece.
